Thinking of going to Zante for the 1st time ...Alykanas or Alykes? We would like to be near to the beach and tavernas.

I think this is the hotel we stayed at many years ago can you advise if the pony and carriages are still there that take you to the restaurants in the hills , many thanks

hello, yes there are still horse and carriages that go thru alykanas to alkes in the evenings, not sure they go up the mountains, but you can visit the villages via the white train.
Where al9ng the beach can you walk to see the turtles? Weve been told that there is a part of this beach that is cl9sed off but you can walk along to the perimeter? Thankyou

As the others have said, I don't think you will see turtles here. All the known nesting sites are on other parts of the island. You might see one swimming out at sea if you hire a boat but …
