Pretty sure, the buses just do a loop, but you can swop from Red Route to Blue Route at certain stops which we did. You do get a route map, so you can get off, have a walk about, and pick up bus at another stop, brilliant!
During the summer months I believe there is air conditioning downstairs, not needed upstairs as the buses are open. Upstairs is the best way to see Vienna!
