I did not see anyone being able nor allowed to get close to the pandas. We were told that the mature pandas are very unpredictable, if not cranky, and, in fact, can become violent. We saw one male panda huffing and jumping up and down on his platform angrily, running purposefully into the fencing, and pacing with a vengeance. I, for one, would not want to get close to a panda with this knowledge in mind. You can walk through the windowed hallway to witness the baby pandas, but as others have said, it's crazy crowded in that small space and, flash pictures are not allowed. Other than this negative stuff I've said, the pandas are beautiful, including the Red pandas!

Hi we have just booked a trip to China and visiting the Panda base in Sept 2021 but I see on our itinerary that we are visiting on a Saturday. Is it better to go midweek as I see some reviews mentioning the crowds. I will ask our travel planner to change days if necessary
