I would go to the Mammoth Site first which takes approximately 2 hours. If it's a nice day, have a picnic at Chautauqa Park which is on the road past Evan's Plunge. The Pioneer Museum on top of the hill is really nice and will take 2-3 hours. End the day at Evan's Plunge and take all the time you want splashing around.

The site isn’t that big. The tour is 30/45 minutes. We stayed about 1- 1 1/2 hours, I think 2 hours would be the max amount of time needed there.
