There is the Sunol Water Garden (first water diversion of East Bay water to SanFran. There is driving the Fremont/Sunol highway that is pretty close to driving North Bay pine/redwood forest. Before Sunol, there is the Palomares Road (up and over to Castro). Nice mountain drive, and near the top is the Wendover Winery and at the top is the fabulous Choiard Winery. At Sunol up Kilkare Road is Elliston Winery. If your follow Foothill Road around the 680, you come to Pleasonton Ridge Regional Park. Taking Sunol and crossing under 680 and go up to Calaveras Road to Sunol Wilderness ("Little Yosemite") Regional Park (very awesome). At the local station, there are the local store and restaurant/bar which has an excellent comfort food menu and a wide variety of wines and beers.
