The Poor Clare Monastery of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Roswell, New Mexico, was founded in 1948 from the Poor Clare Monastery in Chicago, Illinois. Since then, the Roswell community has grown and given birth to six daughterhouses across the country and abroad. Today the community numbers 25 nuns/novices/postulants. The legacy of one of the founding members, Mother Mary Francis, P.C.C., continues to inspire thousands who have read her books, in which she shares, with delightful wit and wisdom, her profound insights on the spiritual life. The monastery chapel is open to all who wish to visit, and the monastery gift shop is also open daily.
