A good climb for good/expert walkers. A good level of fitness required but can be done with a few stops on the way up. Well worth the views. Ensure you have plenty of liquid and food to keep energy …Neil M的完整评论

Started at 6:30 am to avoid the heat and inexperienced hikers. Car park was crazy full. Trail is very well maintained all the way to the top. That being said, I saw several groups that were not prepa…Joseph T的完整评论

Everyone will have their own opinions so I will give mine. As we did the walk in mid-February on an initially rainy day, we didn’t have an Instagram problem. Everyone we met was friendly. My recommen…Denzil H的完整评论

Is this track currently open with all the snow that’s fallen in the last 2 days? Wanting to head up tomorrow but did Isthmus Peak today and there was a heap of snow at the top! Can imagine Roy’s Peak having even more due to the height.

Most of the pictures I see of the first view point appear to show a steep drop off on either side. Is that stop really as precarious as it appears in pictures?
答:
No! You can go all the way out to the view without feeling precarious, but on the other hand there's no reason to go all the way out because the view is spectacular from the main trail

Hi! If you get there EARLY, have loads of patience, snacks and water, and a good frame of mind you can do it but probably not to the peak. It’s a long, steep hike that taxes adults with good hiking health. A six year old may seemingly have boundless energy but I think you’ll find the end of the energy before you get to the end of the trail. BUT if you still want to give it a go, you don’t HAVE to summit. You can make it a goal to do 1 of the 8 kilometres or get to the sheep fence crossing from memory about 2 1/2k or if you’re really going for it to get to the viewing platform again from memory about 5 or 6 kilometres up. Just thinking; it may be harder in winter, if there’s snow or if it’s wet. Winter in the Southern hemisphere is opposite to the Northern hemisphere. Not sure where you’re staying but Moke Lake might be a better hike with a six year old; it’s absolutely breath taking, it’s not too difficult but there are some patches of fun for little hikers. It’s in the middle of no where though so take provisions including tp for the toilets.
