This was a sacred water hole for the ancient Mayans - source of drinking water and for watering crops. Now it's a swimming pool. InsightfulTourists的完整评论

Bit of a walk for my kids down to this cenote, but mostly shaded (and lined with vendors). The view isn't really worth it- mostly just the history of knowing what was done here. But, we were treate… JaimeeRG的完整评论

It was beautiful to see. The day we were on our tour it began to rain so we could not swim in the cenote. We tried to wait it out but the rain was coming down hard and didn't seem like it was going t… L B的完整评论
Hi All, I am travelling to Chichen Itza on early May 2016.We are on travel budget. We will be taking public bus from Valladolid town to Chichen Itza. After that is it advisable for us to walk to Cenote Sagrado?

It's all on one site (think Disneyland where the Matterhorn and Space Mountain are both featured, and all on one site -- and as many vendors peddling their wares). So, yes, you'll walk down the pathway to the Sacred Cenote from the temples. What's really advisable is a hat, water, sunscreen and mosquito repellant.
I need to know if I can bring my 7 year old and my 2 year old to the Pyramids in CHICHEN ITZA and to the Sacred Cenote (Cenote Sagrado). I have no babysitters, and really want to swim in the Cenote with my kids, but I haven't seen a video of any kids swimming.. Thank you.. Also how much it cost to visit both locations?

Hi, we were there early in the morning and there were one or two families with small children in the site already. In my post about the site there are prices as of Nov 2014, I don't remember them off hand. There are trees all around the site, so there is shade to be found, but I saw some clever people with umbrellas once the sun got high and they seemed quite comfortable. You are not able to swim in the cenote at Chichen Itza, you will have to go down the road to the Ik Kil cenote, which is quite kid friendly as it has life jackets and change rooms and ice cream. You will need a taxi, it is much too far to walk.
which cenote is this the one at chicken itz or il kil which one is better for swiming

This watering hole described here was close to Chichen Itza. Excellent for swimming, but the water was on the cold side. Very deep with a place to jump off a cliff. Worth a stop.
