Is this mine easily accessible from Rovaniemi if you have a hire car? Were would be drive to to get the tour and I could only see Summer tours online to book.

As you can see from their website - You will travel to Lampivaara amethyst mine with special “snow train” Amethyst Pendolino which is a warmed wagon pulled by a snow machine. You may choose your departure station: the center of Luosto, Ukkoluosto parking lot (2,5 km from center, car parking) or Lampivaara Café (5 km from Luosto, you can arrive here by skiing, by snowhoes, by fatbike or by winter hiking). We caught the Pendolino up from Luosto it takes 20-30 minutes to get the mine.
Hi, I would really like to visit the Amethyst Mine in Lapland late Feb but the 3 tour operators I tried booking with only accept bookings with a minimum of two people. Does anyone know of any other tour operator that will take bookings for solo travellers or the best way to get to the mine by public transport from Rovaniemi city ? Thanks.

He also might be able to drop you off at Lampivaara collection point and advise on transport to and from Rova.

Rovaniemi to Luosto is approx 1.5 to 2 hours drive on a decent road.

We went on the whole,Luosto trip with Aurorazone from the UK, but the amethyst mine and the other activities we did were with the Snow Games people in Luosto just near Santas aurora hotel, but organised through Aurora zone. You can book activites direct with snow games, like the amethyst mine, husky sledding, reindeer sledding, snow mobiling, snowshoeing etc. absolutely awesome!
