奥罗拉是一个位于加拿大安大略省约克区的小城镇，离多伦多以北约20公里。周围环境很美，是一片山谷地区，居住环境好。奥罗拉西临金市，北接纽马克特，东邻怀特彻奇－斯托维尔，南边则与列治文山为邻。据2016加拿大人口普查所示，奥罗拉有55,445名居民，较2011年上升4.2%。2018年，奥罗拉最新人口普查数据显示有62,119名居民。 首任上加拿大副总督闪高于1793年颁令兴建连接约克镇和荷兰登陆地的道路，工程并于1794年至1796年间陆续完成，为奥罗拉日后的发展奠定先基。到殖民地政府划定乡界时，现奥罗拉镇的西部被划入金乡，东部则被划入怀特彻奇乡，两者以央街为界，而该带的首批地契于1797年获批。商人理查·马切尔为首批在央街夹威灵顿街开设商铺的东主之一，该带初期亦因此以他命名为马切尔角落。
