I went in a 4 door passenger car in Aug 2016. It was okay but very rocky and bumpy. If you are worried about scratches to the car then I wouldn't reccomend it. A small truck or SUV will be fine. Also don't rely on the cars or your cell phones GPS they both stopped working about 15 mins after Golden Spike and singnage isn't good. Take a map with you.
