On Wednesday, 17-year-old high school athlete Austin Metcalf was fatally stabbed at a track event at Kuykendall Stadium, in the northern Frisco suburb of Dallas, Texas, according to local authorities.

Austin Metcalf was a 17-year-old high school student in Frisco, Texas, who was stabbed to death by another student at a track meet, according to Frisco police. Frisco police wrote in a news release that the suspect accused in the homicide is a Frisco Centennial High School student named Karmelo

Metcalf is still in shock over what happened just a mile away at a stadium where Austin’s twin, Hunter, saw his brother stabbed in the chest. “My other son, who was there, was holding his hands on the hole trying to save his life, he told me,” Metcalf said. “I looked at him. His eyes, he was gone. He wasn’t breathing.”
