The price of a ticket for the multi-state Mega Millions lottery game will increase from $2 to $5 next month. While a ticket will cost more than twice as much starting April 5, Mega Millions officials say the odds of winning the jackpot will improve. There will also be larger starting jackpots and the size of the jackpots will jump more quickly.

A lottery player in Massachusetts claimed a $1 million prize from a scratch ticket they bought for $50. The $1 million prize was from “ Lifetime Millions ,” a $50 game released on Feb. 6, 2024. There are still five $1 million, three $2 million and two $1 million a week for life prizes remaining to be claimed in the game as of March 12.
