Draymond Green’s case for NBA Defensive Player of the Year got its most notable co-sign on Thursday when Hall of Famer Reggie Miller campaigned for the Warriors player on a nationally televised broadcast.

Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green discussed the possibility of facing off against LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers in the 2025 NBA playoffs. "Anytime we face LeBron, it's always cinematic," Green said during an appearance on NBA Today. "It's always an incredible challenge, so that's always fun."

Draymond Green is regarded as one of the best defenders in the NBA's modern era. His ability to guard all five positions and function as the defensive fulcrum has allowed the Golden State Warriors to win four championships during his tenure.

Morant has been suspended multiple times in the past for incidents involving actual guns. In 2023, he was suspended eight games after flashing a gun on Instagram at a Colorado nightclub. Then, in May of the same year, he was suspended 25 more games after again showing off a gun while in a car during another Instagram video.

The NBA issued warnings but no further penalties to Memphis Grizzlies guard Ja Morant and Golden State Warriors guard Buddy Hield for their "finger gun" gestures during Tuesday's game, ESPN reported Thursday.
