Pepsi’s acquisition of Poppi signals a growing interest among beverage companies and in drinks that promote health and wellness

PepsiCo announced Monday it will acquire the Shark Tank-inspired probiotic soda brand poppi in a nearly $2 billion business deal.

PepsiCo said on Monday it would buy prebiotic soda brand Poppi for $1.95 billion, expanding into the "healthier soda" category at a time when the company is battling falling demand for its traditional beverages and snacks.
