Texas basketball sent an eight-word message to its newest head coach, Sean Miller. The Longhorns moved quickly after firing Rodney Terry to hire the head coach who eliminated them in the First Four of the NCAA Tournament.

Terry was fired on Sunday, after Xavier defeated Texas in the First Four on Wednesday, erasing a 13-point deficit to win 86-80.

After beating Drake in the second round, the Texas Tech basketball team will play Arkansas in the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament on Thursday.

Monday's winner advances to the Sweet 16. Texas has reached the Sweet 16 in three of the past four seasons. Illinois was last a Sweet 16 team in 1998.

Texas Longhorns women’s basketball beat Illinois today in the NCAA Tournament’s Round of 32. Texas will now advances to the Sweet 16, where the team will face Tennessee this weekend. Texas women’s basketball has now advanced to the Sweet 16 in four of the past five seasons.
