Bayern Munich’s handling of star Thomas Müller has been in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons lately — with the legend, who had been consistently praised throughout the season, seemingly headed for an acrimonious split with the only club he’s ever known.

Bayern Munich favorite Thomas Müller could be about to end his career because media reports suggest the club will not extend his contract at the end of the season.

Uli Hoeneß initiated Müller’s departure with his statements last month: “If he’s only a substitute, I would advise him to retire” - Bayern want to further rejuvenate the team and also save salaries. Müller earns up to €17m gross per year, making him one of the top earners.
