The opera “Primero Sueño” translates Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz’s poem about the soul’s journey into a musical promenade around the Cloisters.

Herring will sing eight pieces spanning from the earliest days of opera in 17th century Florence, Italy, all the way to the early 20th century. She will be accompanied by pianist Shari Spicknall.
