The ninth entry in the Final Fantasy saga will celebrate its 25th anniversary in 2025. Square Enix has announced new merchandising, collectibles, and more.

This year marks the 25th anniversary of Final Fantasy IX and Square Enix has announced some celebration plans for the PS1-era RPG. The publisher said it’s “preparing various projects,” including new figures of the main heroes that slightly alter their appearance.

Final Fantasy 9 remake's title may have been revealed over two months ago, as someone claims to have seen a listing for Final Fantasy XI: Timeless Tale where they work. It just so happens that this title is the same as a 25th anniversary vinyl announced and put up for pre-order on an official Square Enix merch store.
