TEHRAN, March 12 (Xinhua) -- Iran has confirmed the existence of high-purity lithium reserves in the country, the semi-official Fars news agency reported Wednesday.

Iran announced a substantial rise in water levels at Lake Urmia, Northwestern Iran, nearly a decade after launching a large-scale restoration initiative aimed at preventing the lake from drying up.
