At least 151 people have been injured after jumping from high places due to panic caused by the earthquakes, Istanbul's governor's office says. In a post on X, it adds there have been no recorded fatalities, and no residential buildings have collapsed.

Several earthquakes rocked Istanbul on Wednesday, with the largest registering 6.2 on the Richter scale, according to Turkey's disaster agency. Several aftershocks were felt around the city of 16 million people in the early afternoon.

In Istanbul, 151 people are being treated for injuries following the earthquakes on Wednesday, the governor's office wrote on X. They "jumped from heights in panic," the office wrote, adding that none are in life-threatening condition.
