The hills and valleys were saturated with water and mud. Tanks created ruts in the ground by driving through the wet fields and forest. Many vehicles, including tanks, had already gotten stuck.

There are situations where fully operational Challenger 2 tanks are unsuitable for combat—they simply get stuck in the Ukrainian mud. In contrast, Leopard 2 tanks handle such situations much better.
