Microsoft is reportedly gearing up to deliver a brand new, slimline version of Microsoft Teams that will replace the existing desktop app to bring performance upgrades on lower-end devices.

The Redmond, Wash.-based vendor plans to make this new version of the Teams desktop app for the Windows operating system (OS) generally available (GA) later this year, according to Microsoft.

Microsoft will end support for its Remote Desktop app on May 27 ... device redirection and is optimized for Microsoft Teams.

Additional benefits include device redirection, optimised performance for Microsoft Teams ... Azure Virtual Desktop, and Microsoft Dev Box via the Remote Desktop app will be blocked.
