Airline travel between the U.S. and Canada has dropped by 70% compared to the same time last year, the result of dueling tariffs between the two countries and U.S. overtures to make Canada the 51st state.

Passenger bookings on flight routes between Canada and the United States “have collapsed,” dropping by more than 70 per cent in every month through to the end of September 2025, according to new forward-looking flight data released by OAG Aviation Worldwide Ltd.
