SACRAMENTO – The Sacramento Zoo has announced the name picked for their new Masai giraffe. On Friday, the zoo revealed that the baby giraffe – born on March 1 – has been named Sumi.

Flamingo Land has welcomed a six foot tall baby giraffe into the world. Zoo keepers at the park had an extra special reason to celebrate Mother’s Day this year with the arrival of Kijana the giraffe.

The zoo will be holding giraffe-themed education activities all day Friday, where guests can visit Sumi. More information can be found on the zoo’s website.
