A group of astronauts whizzing around Earth from orbit are getting some pretty spectacular views of our planet's poles – and SpaceX is sharing a look.

An international team is currently closely tracking the near-Earth asteroid 2024 YR4. The impact probability estimates for the year 2032 has been reduced from a peak of 3 percent to below 0.001 percent.

Chun Wang, a Chinese-born crypto entrepreneur, paid an undisclosed amount for the mission. Some satellites are already in polar orbit, and researchers called it a routine flight.

A SpaceX spacecraft carrying four astronauts is on a pioneering journey circling Earth over its poles after launching Monday night from Florida.

The Fram2 crew will be the first people to observe the polar regions from low Earth orbit, and they'll work on experiments and projects designed to forward our understanding of long-duration spaceflight. The mission will also mark the first time that crews have used an X-ray machine on humans in orbit.

This Fram2 mission will send four private astronauts from four different countries into orbit - Chun Wang (Malta), Jannicke Mikkelsen (Norway), Rabea Rogge (Germany), and Eric Phillips (Australia). The mission will take them into low Earth orbit on a trajectory that will pass over both of Earth's polar regions, a first for human spaceflight.
