John Lynch made it clear he hopes the team can work out a long-term deal with Brock Purdy, who's entering the last year of his rookie contract.

NFL insider Jason La Canfora seemingly reported that the San Francisco 49ers' first offer to Brock Purdy was a contract extension averaging $45 million annually—well below market value for quarterbacks and a figure that wouldn't even make Purdy a top-10 paid player.

Of the 25 names released by the NFL who cashed in, Purdy came in at No. 16 and he wasn’t even the highest 49er player on the list. That went to rookie guard Dominick Puni, who received $898,036 after playing all but one snap in 17 games after being a third-round draft pick out of Kansas.
