Millions of Americans across the country are on alert for a severe weather outbreak as violent, long-track tornadoes with damaging winds of up to 80 mph and large hail are expected across the Midwest and South with the cross-country storm moving east.

Cleanup is underway following a round of severe storms that moved through the Pittsburgh area and survey crews from the National Weather Service will be looking for possible signs of tornado damage today.

The eastern part of Ohio is under a tornado watch until 4 p.m. on Sunday. A wind advisory was extended until 2 p.m.

On Sunday at 1:53 p.m. the NWS Wilmington NC issued a tornado watch in effect until 2 p.m. The watch is for Bladen, Brunswick, Columbus, New Hanover, Pender and Robeson counties.

On Sunday at 12:51 a.m. an updated tornado watch was released by the National Weather Service in effect until 3 a.m. for Barbour, Bullock, Pike and Russell counties.

At 10:34 a.m. on Sunday, the National Weather Service released an updated tornado watch in effect until 4 p.m. for Allegheny, Armstrong, Beaver, Butler, Clarion, Forest, Greene, Indiana, Jefferson, Lawrence,
