The Fryeburg Fair is celebrating its 175th season in 2025 and has announced plans to expand its schedule to nine days this year instead of its normal eight.

The Fryeburg Fair, Maine's biggest fair, is planning to open a day earlier this year, which would overlap with the last day of the Cumberland Fair.

Officials with the Cumberland fair continue to dispute a plan by organizers of the Fryeburg fair to expand their schedule. It would put the two fairs in direct competition on Saturday September 27.
