BIH currently operates a fleet of two AW189 SAR-configured helicopters, three S61 helicopters and one AS365 helicopter, performing various passenger and freight transport as well as hoist operations.

The last time an acquisition of helicopters on this scale was made was in the 1960s with the purchase of more than 40 Sikorsky S61 A-4 Nuri helicopters for the Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF).
