2011年1月26日 · The original questioner said 1955 in his title and 1954 in his question. This makes quite a difference. The 54 was the last model to use a six cylinder engine only, and a V8 will not fit without moving things around.

2025年1月28日 · Cream puff original California 1955 Plymouth Savoy. Very rare two door that's solid and straight. No rust issues or bondo. Paint is old, but still shines up. Has had a lot of maintenance including all rebuilt bushings on suspension and brakes. Have a folder full of receipts. Engine fires right up and purrs.

2020年6月16日 · I believe you can bolt a 1933 and up engine into any Plymouth or US Dodge 6 cylinder until 1959. Fitting a 1935 of later engine into a 1933 or 1934 runs into fit issues on the starter. Some time in, I think, the early 1950s the changed the teeth on the flywheel ring gear and starter so to may have be careful with what parts you try to make work ...

2019年7月6日 · Not a lot of aftermarket bolt-in support for 1955 Plymouths. Anything is possible though with a lot of time, money, skill and effort. The easiest thing to do would be to rebuild your original engine or replace it with another flathead 6 from a 1955 or 1956 Dodge or Plymouth.

2005年2月3日 · NEW guy with a question. mopar made a flathead 6 for about a hundred years, i believe until about 1959, when they started with the slant 6. does anyone know how late a flat 6 will bolt in to a 46 to 48 plymouth. i want to upgrade without any welding or cutting if possible. i know the later engine...

2023年5月4日 · An engine with Polyspherical heads on the big Chrysler Hemi block would have been called "Spitfire" (not Red Ram). The new Plymouth V8 was not ready until 1956, so 1955 Plymouth V8s and some 1956 Plymouths have an engine from this family.

2018年4月10日 · The newer design was introduced in 1956 in Plymouth only, and was used exclusively in Plymouth from 1956-1958. There were several displacements (including 318). However, the older design was also used in Plymouth in 1955 and 1956. A 1956 Plymouth could have either engine design. The new design did not appear in Dodge until 1959 (326ci).

2012年5月7日 · Run the engine to warm it then adjust the idle bleed screw for the highest vacuum usually around 15 psi. Then leaving it connected ,but disconnect the vacuum advance vacuum line if you have one and plug that line,turn the distributor around back against the rotation until you get the best vacuum that way.
