Rorschach behaved like an automaton, seeking the truth, and settling for nothing less, unmoving until it coated him his life. Ozymandias behaved like an overbearing, tyrant like mother.

The context of his actions was that the world was on the verge of WW3. Ozymandias provided the whole planet with a common enemy by staging a fake alien invasion on New York. With all the worlds leaders focused on a potential planetary threat they all saw the bigger picture, turning many feuding nations into allies.

And that's the point, Ozymandias never left any space for a counter argument, he squashed any possibility of proving he was wrong before it was too late. He never even discussed or explained why he though it was needed, until 35 minutes had passed.

The theme was apocalyptic literature. I made the course because I found it interesting how the belief that world might end changes the type of stories we tell. I taught the watchmen along side works like Cat’s Cradle by Vonnegut and also the poetry of Ts Eliot. Cats cradle in particular is an excellent book to read if you liked the watchmen .
