2016年2月7日 · I have a model 12 FCV on the way and wanted to buy my scope base. I can either buy 2 of the # 46 bases or a one piece base (Weaver 48338). I would prefer to buy the 2 piece base but I am not sure if the screws are the right length.

Seems like there`s 80 gazillion scope bases to choose from, certainly enough to totally confuse someone as inexperienced as yours truly! I plan to have someone who knows what the hell they`re doing mount the scope but I`ve got to provide the pieces/parts.

2018年1月18日 · As you know, Savage makes several different flavors of actions with a variety of port configurations. Some of the 20 MOA bases have a small boss on the underside, sort of like a mini-recoil-lug. It's designed to drop into the port and help lock the mount against recoil forces.

2014年7月16日 · I spent a lot of time yesterday carefully centering the scope on the mount and fastening it down. As you may know, Burris has these plastic inserts that can give you up to 20 MOA extra elevation if desired; however, I mounted the scope with the standard 0 MOA inserts. After placing the scope on the mount, I noticed that the fit was VERY tight.

2022年12月5日 · My son has an older model 12 in 223 that he's trying to get to 1000 yds with (you know, kids), and he's using a Sightron SIII 8-32x 56mm, with burris signature rings (20 MOA) and a 20 MOA rail, and he can just barely do it, but the scope is at the limit of its verticle adjustment, which makes the windage adjustments wonky (according to Sightron).

2012年6月10日 · The front ring on a Savage action is ~.170" thick, this included the threads. 6-48 screws are ~.021" per thread, 5 threads in the action is more than adequate, so screws that protrude ~.100" below the scope base will hold the base and not bugger up the barrel threads. joe b.
