Building a CD hovercraft is an easy and cheap way to learn and explore about friction and air interactions. The experiment is free if you have a ballon and a CD rom and takes about 5 minutes to prepare and conduct.

In the project below, you’ll make a hovercraft using a balloon instead of a fan. The air from the balloon creates the cushion needed for the hovercraft to glide. 1.
