The Regelbau (German for "standard(ised) construction") were a series of standardised bunker designs built in large numbers by the Germans in the Siegfried Line (German: Westwall) and the Atlantic Wall as part of their defensive fortifications prior to and during the Second World War.

In book form summarized a collection of architectural drawings of German bunkers in the period 1933-1945, with type indication, application, sizes, content and other information.

These were bunkers, carried out as concrete or concrete reinforced with steel bars, with wall and ceiling up to 100 cm thickness and a floor up to 40 cm. The construction was designed to protect its inhabitants from the effects of a 50 kg aerial bomb dropped on the roof or a direct wall hit from a 105 mm artillery shell.

The Atlantikwall comprised of a number of different bunker types such as garages for equipment, telephone bunkers for communications exchange, radar bunkers, infantry bunkers, observation bunkers, fire control batteries and so on.

Using the Type 636 bunker as a starting point, the design of the bunker tried to follow the German general design principles. The size was kept to a minimum, with the bunker capable of housing two MG-42 crews, observation personnel plus defensive personnel and supplies – roughly 16 officers and men.
