Camping along the trail is popular, but permitted only in designated areas. The Greenbrier River Trail is open year-round to hikers and backpackers. There’s plenty of nature and wildlife to see along the way! Horseback riding is a great way to enjoy this trail!

Open from April through October, our 8-acre campground is located on the banks of the Greenbrier River with tree-lined RV sites, wooded riverside tent camping, and rentals that include four comfortable, fully-equipped cabins. Our guests have access to a thousand feet of riverfront for great fishing and one of the best swimming holes on the river.

Train enthusiasts will enjoy the active track just across the river. If you prefer tent camping, our primitive sites – with fire rings and picnic tables – are right on the banks of the river. Some are right next to the water; others are within view and steps away from the launch area.

Now the trail is for recreational use, with overnight campsites and many restroom and water facilities scattered along its route. The trail hosts the popular annual Great Greenbrier River Race: canoeing, biking and running.

I would highly recommend the campground: great pavilion area with sink & running water, hot showers, clean toilet facilities (primitive), firewood for sale at a reasonable cost on site, and great access to the Greenbrier River Trail in a beautiful setting.
