This IR spectrum is from the Coblentz Society's evaluated infrared reference spectra collection.
infrared spectrum of cyclopentane prominent wavenumbers cm …
The infrared spectrum of cyclopentane is unique and the whole, or selected wavenumbers, can be used to fingerprint its identity, sometimes analysing a mixture containing cyclopentane or following its change of concentration in a reaction.

The Infra‐Red and Raman Spectra of Cyclopentane, Cyclopentane‐
The infra‐red and Raman spectra of cyclopentane, cyclopentane‐ d 1, and cyclopentane‐ d 10 have been determined for the purpose of establishing the symmetry of cyclopentane. D 5h selection rules are found to hold very well.

Infrared Spectra of Crystalline Cyclopentane and Cyclopentane‐
Infrared spectra of crystalline cyclopentane and cyclopentane‐d 10 have been measured at different temperatures between 4000 and 200 cm −1. Spectroscopic evidence shows that form I (− 120°C) and form II (− 140°C) have the same degree of disorder as the liquid.

11.5: Infrared Spectra of Some Common Functional Groups
When analyzing an IR spectrum, it is helpful to overlay the diagram below onto the spectrum with our mind to help recognize functional groups. Figure 1. Group frequency and fingerprint regions of the mid-infrared spectrum. The region of the infrared spectrum from 1200 to 700 cm-1 is called the fingerprint region. This region is notable for the ...
