With an electrically noisy PC, and a cheap ADC, a cable without stoppers might produce breakthrough interference on audio. However, part of the cost of a good ADC should be high immunity to conducted interference.

2022年2月24日 · Your USB cord is not the only culprit, but other electrical cables are implicated. However, because your USB cord is credited into the USB port, the high-powered components in a PC like the power supply and graphics card can make vibrations more audible.

You can also get a "USB cable with ferrite choke" to reduce noise on the cable. If you're on a laptop, as a test, pull the power cable to see how it affects your signal. The hum should go away. Then follow recommendation from above on isolating your grounds.
