2018年3月6日 · First post, apologies for the length. I dove in on building a ghetto, super cheap offset smoker as a fun project to learn how to smoke meat. I picked up a 55 gallon and 15 gallon drum for like 20 bucks and got to work. Burned them out, cut doors, bought a stovepipe stack, made a stand with a shelf out of scrap wood, made a cooking grate, etc.

2018年10月2日 · I have started a new project, building a new offset smoker for myself, using 1/4" thick plate. Here is where I am at so far....body is fully welded together, no end plates yet, door is cut and is partially fabbed. Firebox is welded up ready to attach, no grating fabbed or installed yet, no frame for it either.

2020年9月3日 · I'm going to build a gravity fed smoker. Seems like one the size of Stumps baby smoker would be about the right size. I've seen plans for sale for $80 but seems like those funds would be better used on supplies to build it. First thing will be build the frame with square tubing 1.5 or 2". then build a Shute 8 X 8 that tapers wider.

2020年4月10日 · Hi All. I am starting an offset smoker build out of a 150 gallon propane tank for the cook chamber and a 80 gallon propane tank for the firebox. I finally got the second tank today so now it is design time. This is my first smoker build. I am planning on designing this whole build in CAD before I even start building.

2013年2月14日 · The next step was to take these ideas and put them into plans. I used Auto-desk Inventor to help that along by creating a 3-D model of my design. I created just the standard shell so i could use these dimensions to build the trailer frame, firebox, and cut the doors.

Something I've long wanted to do, and have just started, is to build a brick smoker. So with about 1,000 bricks left over from a home addition, I decided to go after it.
