Season 5 of The Last Kingdom was announced by Netflix on July 7, 2020. The season premiered on March 9, 2022 and consists of 10 episodes. Production began in November 2020 and ended in June 2021. It roughly adapted the plots of the "Warriors of the Storm" and "The Flame Bearer", the ninth and tenth novels in Bernard Cornwell's The Saxon Stories.

But there are other great moments: final scenes between Alfred and Uhtred, Uhtred seeing Ragnar for the first time after the slavery, the scene where Earl Ragnar and his family die, Thyra running towards Beocca after the battle where Ethelflaed gets kidnapped (that one is actually close after the field scene 😭).
