This site, World Water Map: Insights, makes the data underlying the map available to researchers, policy-makers, journalists, and others interested in a deeper dive into the problem. With the Data Explorer you can visualize, at different geographic scales, how the world’s water gaps have developed since 1980.

The Global Lakes and Wetlands Database (GLWD) version 2 provides a comprehensive and seamless global map of inland surface waters distinguished into 33 waterbody and wetland types.

2003年7月1日 · The analysis is based on 15 global indicators that characterize watersheds according to their value, current condition, and vulnerability to potential degradation. These indicators, presented in more than 150 maps, give a unique global perspective on the largess transboundary watersheds, as well as many smaller basins and sub-basins.

It offers a suite of datasets, including stream networks, watershed boundaries, drainage directions, and other data layers such as flow accumulations, distances, and river topology information. Recently available data derived from HydroSHEDS include comprehensive layers of major basins and smaller sub-basins (~100-2,500 km2) across the globe.
