The ferry operator says the cancellations and changes to the crossings, that impact sailings from early tomorrow morning (Thursday) until Saturday morning, are due to ‘tidal conditions in Heysham Port’.

The ferry operator have said that during recent docking trials involving the Manxman and Ben-my-Chree, ‘challenges were identified with safely mooring vessels at various tidal heights, particularly at the forward end of these vessels’.

The ferry firm has released a statement. Isle of Man Steam Packet Company Director Brian Thomson said: ‘We are committed to improving our services, getting back to the high levels of reliability and punctuality we have been known for, and enhancing the customer experience to make sure we provide the best service we can.

The issues appear to be impacting several forms of the companies services, including 4G, 3G, Wi-Fi and phone services. Customers from across the island have reported having no network connection or phone line, with many sharing their frustrations online.

The bank will close on February 10, 2025 after 70 years at its current site. Any customers still wishing to carry out in-person banking will have to go to the Villiers House branch in Douglas or banking services at the Ramsey post office. which will be available from November 25.

The Steam Packet says: ‘Due to the forecast adverse weather this sailing is subject to possible disruption / cancellation. To give this sailing every opportunity to take place a final decision will be made by the Master by 5.30pm on Monday.
