My experience with the 7-30 Waters... - Mississippi Gun Owners
2012年8月4日 · Conclusions: The 7-30 Waters isn't the fasted, flattest, or hardest hitter caliber out there. Not by a long shot. It does offer better than average accuracy, relatively light recoil, and a world of possibilities to the hand loader. Being a rimmed cartridge it's also perfectly suited for a single shot pistol or rifle.
7-30 Waters vs 30-30 AI in a Contender rifle? - Graybeard Outdoors
2017年8月10日 · In the Waters, the 120 and 140 grain Ballistic Tips are ideal. I've used both quite a bit with superb results. In the 30-30 AI, the 150 grain Ballistic Tip is my favorite, but the 125 grain BT and 125 grain Accubond are top-flight choices as well.
7-30 Waters Super 14 Powder Recommendations - Graybeard …
2020年2月28日 · I recently bought a 7-30 Waters "Super 14" barrel for my G1 Contender. I'm a novice when it comes to reloading and I'm trying to select the right powder to use for this cartridge. I'm planning on shooting bullets weighing between 120 and 140 grains, probably Nosler ballistic tips, Sierra Spitzers or Hornady SSTs in this weight range.

2002年12月4日 · I have two 7-30 Waters that I shoot all of the time. The first whitetail I took with my Hunter model was with the 139grn SST at 80 yds. Nice 120lb buck. Nice wound channel and 2" exit after hitting a rib. Dropped right there. The second with my 7-30 Waters using a 120grn BT and a 14" barrel was a 100 lb doe. Hit quartering away.
30 Herrett or 7-30 Waters - Graybeard Outdoors
2002年11月19日 · All things being equal: with the exceptions of over the counter ammo and reloading. 7-30 ammo is available over the counter and the herritt ammo is not. the herritt ammo requires a couple extra preliminary steps to re load. the .30 Herritt was designed for a 10 in barrell and the 7-30 prolly wants to use the 14 better than the 10. other than that the ballistics are close.

I use the Soft Point bullets for silhouete matches.
