Amerie Mi Marie Rogers Nicholson (born January 12, 1980) [1] is an American singer, songwriter, actress and writer. She has released four studio albums to date: All I Have (2002), Touch (2005), Because I Love It (2007), In Love & War (2009). She is best known for her 2005 single "1 Thing".

Amerie is a Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter, producer, and writer of fiction. The daughter of a Korean artist and an African-American military officer, Amerie was born in Massachusetts, raised all over the world, and graduated from Georgetown University with a bachelor’s in English.
