Ammon said that the Great Spirit is God, that he created everything in heaven and on the earth, and that he knows people’s thoughts. Alma 18:28–32 Ammon said people were created in God’s image.

Ammon said that God made the world and everyone in it. Then Ammon told Lamoni that God has a plan of salvation. As part of that plan, Jesus Christ would come. Lamoni believed what Ammon said. Lamoni prayed and asked God to have mercy on him and his people. Alma 18:24–36, 39–42

In the Book of Mormon, a son of King Mosiah. Ammon served as a missionary whose diligent efforts helped to convert many souls to Christ. Was an unbeliever who sought to destroy the Church, Mosiah 27:8–10, 34 .

Ammon glories in the Lord—The faithful are strengthened by the Lord and are given knowledge—By faith men may bring thousands of souls unto repentance—God has all power and comprehends all things. About 90–77 B.C.

Ammon is a heroic figure in the Book of Mormon, known for his valiant service that included defending the flocks of Lamoni, a Lamanite king (see Alma 17:25–39; 18:1–10). Ammon’s story, like many other scriptural accounts in the Book of Mormon, can teach us much about how to embrace the opportunities and overcome the challenges we face today.

The people of Ammon knew that the wicked Lamanites would come to kill them but decided not to fight back. They had repented of killing.

King Lamoni supposes that Ammon is the Great Spirit—Ammon teaches the king about the Creation, God’s dealings with men, and the redemption that comes through Christ—Lamoni believes and falls to the earth as if dead. About 90 B.C.
