2020年6月17日 · The Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis) are the shimmering curtains of predominantly green light that brighten Instagram feeds every northern hemisphere winter. They are nature’s winter light show that is screened against a backdrop of stars and only available at open-air theatres at certain latitudes.

The northern lights – or Aurora Borealis as it is officially known – actually occur all year round, but cannot be seen during the summer months in Greenland due to the midnight sun. The phenomenon is often seen around midnight and is best experienced on a dark, clear night in the period from September to the beginning of April.

In the sky over Greenland you can sometimes see a very special phenomenon, the Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis). The beautiful flickering curtains of green, yellow, red and white light swirl and dazzle. You can't help but be overwhelmed by the fleeting experience when the Northern Lights dance in the sky.
