Eagle warriors or eagle knights (Classical Nahuatl: cuāuhtli [ˈkʷaːʍtɬi] (singular) [1] or cuāuhmeh [ˈkʷaːʍmeʔ] [1]) were a special class of infantry soldier in the Aztec army, one of the two leading military special forces orders in Aztec society, the other being the Jaguar warriors.

The Aztec warrior group was separated into to societies. Eagle and Jaguar warriors were the two main military societies, the highest rank open to commoners. In battle they carried atlatls, bows, spears and daggers.

According to Aztec beliefs, the Aztec Jaguar Warriors represented the Aztec god Tezcatlipoca who was the god of the night sky. On the battlefield, their jaguar costume was also thought to give them the powers of an animal.
