Dec 15, 2006 · The Baritone guitar is a variation on the standard guitar, differing with a longer scale length that allows it to occupy a lower register. The Danelectro Company was the first to introduce the Baritone Guitar in the late 1950
Baritone vs Normal - Electric Guitars - Harmony Central
Oct 9, 2009 · That said, I use 13's on my 28" scale baritone, but as I prefer as much 'normal' tension as I can get (thus more clarity/pop), I only tune it down to B. It could easily go lower, but B makes musical sense, and I like the way it feels. And, as many baritone players will tell you, drop-tuning a regular guitar is NOT the same as a baritone.

Nov 21, 2000 · The baritone guitar is pitched between standard guitar and bass, similar to the cellos place in the violin family, The MK IV Nylon-String Baritone Guitar is a compact, lightweight and well-balanced semi-solidbody acoustic/electric with a bolt-on, one-piece hard rock maple neck and 24-fret wenge fingerboard.
Baritone guitar as a bass - Harmony Central
Aug 10, 2019 · There is no reason you can’t experiment and try to do something new, but you’ll be dealing with range limitations on the baritone guitar that you won’t have with something like a Bass VI. I have a Bass VI too, and FWIW, I don’t really consider that to be a substitute for the bari either, even though it can cover the same note range and ...
Can I put baritone strings on a regular 6-string?
Nov 25, 2008 · Hi.I'm getting a regular 6-stringed guitar (schecter c-1). What is the difference between a regular 6-string guitar and one that's "baritone"? Can't I achieve the same effect by getting a pack of 7-string guitar strings and skipping the high e-string? Or would the saddle not allow such big string...
Baritone and Drop C - Electric Guitars - Harmony Central
Aug 14, 2006 · A lot of bands use 24 3/4 scale instruments to compensate for the heavier guage string associated with detuning to that level. Baritones are a good option for using normal guage strings to accomidate the tension of the tuning. You could probably get by with a set-neck 24 3/4 scale guitar with 11-52's strung on it as long as you have a stop tail.
Baritone/Bass VI or Octave Pedal? - Harmony Central
Nov 21, 2012 · A baritone is generally a fourth or fifth lower, rather than an octave lower. As Wyatt says, octave pedals really only work as intended for single notes. They can make some really interesting noises otherwise, but don't really substitute for a bass or baritone guitar. A midi based device would do a much better job.
Taylor's Baritone 6- and 8-String Guitars - Harmony Central
Sep 14, 2010 · Combining a baritone’s long-scale fretboard and lowered tuning with selected octave strings from an acoustic 12-string, the Baritone 8-String is a guitar like no other. Taylor has chosen to double only two of the strings, the fourth and third (A and D), which is the interior pair.
Baritone Guitar Chords - Electric Guitars - Harmony Central
Jan 17, 2009 · The chord shapes are played the same but they are a fourth lower on the baritone. So if you play the chord shape that is an "E" on a standard guitar it would be a "B" on the baritone. You should memorize the circle of fifths and transposing will come easy since a fourth below is the same as a fifth above. Just memorize this: a fifth above A is E
