We are a NEVER KILL rescue with up to 204 dog- beds, always running at or near capacity. We are NOT a "network" or a "virtual" rescue. We take in any surrender regardless of pedigree, medical or behavioral problems, illness or injury.

Our Chihuahua Sanctuary services are for dogs who cannot, possibly forever, be placed in normally- acceptable adoptive homes. These dogs may have physical or behavioral deficits that may put theirs or others' safety and well- being into jeopardy without extreme measures.

Our 777th rescue dog has been placed* into a loving, inspected & qualified home since the opening of our Burbank kennel, 3 years ago. That puts our total at over 5,000 dogs placed since our inception!

Santa Clarita- area teens from their high school volunteer club, HAPE (Helping Abandoned Pets Everywhere), recently spent their Saturday day helping take care of abandoned dogs at Chihuahua Rescue in Burbank.

SPECIAL- NEEDS DOG: STONEY is a rare "blue" pure bred Chihuahua who has suffered emotional trauma since he was a puppy. This little boy cries incessantly and doesn't quickly connect with people. He seems to always be looking around and waiting for the "other shoe to drop." Since he arrived at Chihuahua Rescue, he has made some progress.
