2008年2月26日 · I’m searching for a trim or repair solution for a cathedral ceiling that has repeatedly cracked at the peak. It’s a scissor truss construction with drywall covering so it’s understandable that the mud in the peak does not have a chance.

2015年1月3日 · You can run ceiling mold on a vault and it does look good, if you are going up the rake, you will need to cut a special pie shaped piece to make the transition but you can do it. Depending how steep the ceiling is will depend on if you need to back cut the top of the mold to get it to lay flat against the ceiling.

The intersecting planes of drywall move along with the framing (be they rafters or scissor trusses), and the taped joint at the peak just isn’t sturdy enough to stay intact for long.

2008年10月26日 · There is a product specifically designed for cathedral ceiling ridges, made by Strait-Flex, called X-Crack. It has the benefit of being able to straighten out framing irregularities (within limits, of course) as well as allowing the framing to move seasonally independent of the drywall, so the joint doesn't tear apart.
